I led a nine-person engineering team on this cross-border remittance platform. This was before my freelance career — I was Head of IT, managing the team across two fintech products: the remittance platform and a payment gateway.
Challenge
The business needed auditable transfers across multiple corridors with compliance team involvement. Operators needed faster ways to pull data, review transaction status, and identify transfers that were stuck.
Solution
I led the team through transfer lifecycle services, compliance screening support, ledger updates, and status event flows. We built automations and dashboards so operators could pull operational data faster instead of checking scattered sources manually.
Impact
The system successfully obtained its operating license and went live. Every transaction was tracked end-to-end with audit trails, status history, and operator visibility. Instead of relying on scattered manual checks, the team had dashboards to review transaction movement, identify stuck transfers, and support compliance review with clearer operational data.
